Buffer

Using Buffer to schedule social media posts

November 10, 2015

Buffer is a simple online tool used to schedule social media posts for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Pinterest. Most businesses these days should be using social media as a marketing tool, and using a social media scheduler like Buffer can save so much time on posting to each of your social media pages.

You can write multiple posts at one time, choose which social pages to send them to, then Buffer will spread them out throughout the day or week (or you can select the time and day) so you don’t have to be at the computer all the time to be posting to social media. Not only do they post for you, but they provide more analytics than if you were directly posting to Twitter or Facebook.
Capture of BufferIt’s simple to set up and simple to use! Firstly connect all of your social profiles so you can click and view each one. To add a post, just click in the text box, type or paste your post, add a photo or image if you need to and then schedule a date and time. You can create a post for multiple social profiles at the same time by clicking on the icons as shown in the picture.

After scheduling your posts you can view your upcoming posts for each social profile and easily edit them if you need to. Then once they’re posted, you can view the analytics to see the amount of interaction each of your posts have had.

You can opt for the Individual Plan for free. This is good to get you started on Buffer, but you can only have ten scheduled posts at a time. For $50 a month (£32.50) the Small Business Plan allows you to schedule up to 2,000 posts over 25 social profiles.

Buffer have also introduced a new tool called Pablo where you can create images to upload to your social profiles in under 30 seconds. Just type any text that you want to appear and choose an image as a background or upload your own. Click on the image below to preview how it works.

When you’ve finished creating the image, you can easily share it to Twitter, Facebook, or add it to your Buffer queue. You can also download the image to use in a blog post or anywhere else you’d like to. These images could be inspirational quotes, short facts and stats, product images, events and announcements and much more.

If you don’t have the time to learn how to use Buffer, we can manage your social media marketing for you. Contact us for a quote.
